Pump, Tank & Storage Installation

Borehole Pump Installation

This is the final stage after ensuring you have safe water is to install a pump and a water storage unit based on your preference. Installing a borehole pump is a critical process after the capacity testing that requires careful planning and execution to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Pump Sizing

As Skylake Drilling, we ensure that we size each borehole´s submersible pump to efficiently operate and meet the specific water supply needs without under or over exploiting the available water resources. We consider the total daily water demand and the peak demands for the intended use for example; domestic, agricultural and industrial. Our Engineers also measure and consider the vertical distance from the pump installation depth to the discharge point which is where the water is delivered including the frictional losses to be incurred. These considerations will help us to choose a submersible pump designed for the specific application.

After the selected pump is in place, our highly experienced technicians will assemble the pump and motor according to the manufacturer’s instructions before joining it with the required accessories for lowering. We ensure that the pump has clearance from the bottom to avoid drawing in sand and sediment.

We use 3 major types of pump installation; electrical (AC) pumps, solar powered (DC) pumps and B Type bush pumps. We guide you & match the rightly sized pump with the borehole yield to ensure optimal use. Our pumps come with a 12-month warranty. Upon completion of pump installation, we connect your borehole to your desired water supply system, water reservoir or irrigation water supply system and you can begin enjoying your borehole!

Connection of Components

Our technicians/ electricians conduct electrical wiring, connecting the pumps to the electrical supply according to the manufacturer’s instructions and our local electrical codes. We also install any necessary control systems, such as float switches, pressure switches, or variable frequency drives, check valves to prevent backflow and gate valves for flow control.

Testing the Installation

We test the installed water supply system for unusual noises, vibrations, or leaks and ensure that all electrical connections are secure. After this, we train our clients on operation of the system, handing over records of installation, pump specifications, installation date, and maintenance schedules.

Storage

We supply and install Water Storage Units of different storage capacities, sourced out from reputable suppliers, complete with inlet and outlet fittings, overflow and all other required accessories. We recommend the use of plastic / HDPE water tanks due to their durability and low maintenance requirements. These are resistant to rust, corrosion, and UV degradation. This means that once installed, the tanks require a minimal upkeep, making it a hassle-free solution for long-term water storage.

The tanks can be mounted on Steel Tank Stands that are Engineer Certified and approved but can also be customised to suit the client´s preferences.
